Golden hued with dried apricot, vanilla and honey on the nose. Harmonious balance between fruit and oak flavours. The wine was partially fermented in new French oak and then blended with Chenin Blanc that was tank fermented. The wine was matured for another 8 months in 50% new French oak and 50% second fill oak. This complex wine have sufficient body to enhance spicy and full flavoured meals. Will partner well with mild seafood and poultry
This is excellent value for money. Chenin Blanc fermented in new French oak is more expensive than tank fermented Chenin. Blake’s Family Wines got . . . the perfect balance between quality without breaking once’s bank balance.
The wine is produced from a dry land bush vine in the Swartland. These grapes have small berries, but have concentrated flavours. This fruit driven . . . Chenin Blanc have sufficient body to enhance a full flavoured meal. The wine is best enjoyed slightly chilled.
The big upside is that the wine is available at a drinkable price in niche wine shops in Gauteng , Cape Town or online. Our aim is not to have a . . . customer that buy the wine as a once-off – the aim is to have a loyal customer whose first choice in Chenin Blanc in the future will always be the Blake Boys Chenin Blanc.
This is a wine suitable for each occasion. A wine to quaff with friends but also an excellent partner to a meal of poultry or a creamy pasta dish.
