Cape Town Events

April is always a great month for events in Cape Town and 2013 is looking to better than most. I’ve put together a list of events that I’m most excited about, it’s by no means exhaustive and I’ll likely update it as I come across events that I’ve missed but I’m really looking forward to next month.

April 1 – 13: A Handful of Keys

Cape Town EventsThis is my favourite show EVER – I’ve watched it 3 times and for me the combination of piano-playing prowess and comic genius make this show completely entertaining and inspiring to watch. This year the team is Ian von Memerty and Jonathan Roxmouth, and it’s on at Theatre on the Bay. You can book tickets online: http://www.theatreonthebay.co.za

April 7: Johnny Clegg is performing at Kirstenbosch

Kirstenbosch concerts have to be the best way to spend a Sunday evening and the 2012/2013 summer season ends on a high note with a concert by Johnny Clegg; book your tickts online here: www.webtickets.co.za

April 11 – 14: Taste of Cape Town

Taste of Cape Town The Cape Town foodie’s favourite, with top Cape restaurants showcasing starter-sized dishes of their fabulous meals. Tickets are available on http://itickets.co.za and http://www.pnptickets.co.za/

April 18: TopShop V&A Waterfront Opens

Exciting News! The long awaited arrival of TopShop in Cape Town has finally happened.  They’re keeping us updated here: https://twitter.com/Topshop_SA

April 18 & 19: Michael McIntyre

This is the one that all my friends are excited about – Michael McIntyre live on stage at Grand West instead of having to watch him on DVD at home! Tickets are available on Computicket.

April 26 – 28: SA Cheese Festival

Cape Town EventsI’m really excited for this one! Described as a gourmet adventure, the SA Cheese Festival brings together cheese makers from all over the country. The festival is being hosted at Sandringham (about halfway between Cape Town and Paarl). Remember to book your tickets online at http://CheeseFestival.co.za, they’re not available at the door!

If you’ve got any not-to-be missed events that I should have included please let me know!
