Cape Town Events

Cape Town EventsWow, May is the event month for foodies (and people who enjoy wine – although they’re usually one and the same). My pick of Cape Town events for May are the Riebeek Valley Olive Festival, Elgin Cool Wine and Country Festival, the Fine Brandy Fusion Festival and my perennial favourite, the Cape Town Good Food and Wine Festival.

Riebeek Valley Olive Festival (3 – 5 May)

Weekend passes for the food and wine festival are available via (R100p/p, R80p/p for locals and pensioners only pay R50p/p) for  a weekend pass that gives access to all eight venues including a complimentary wine tasting glass, wine and olive tastings. There’s also a free shuttle service.

Mother’s Day (12 May)

And don’t forget Mother’s Day on 12 May! Woolies and Rubybox are offering some lovely Mother’s Day goodies, and Cape Town Magazine has put together a lovely list of places that are treating moms on Mother’s day.

The Good Food and Wine Festival (23 – 26 May)

This is my favourite festival in the Cape Town event Calendar. The atmosphere is great, and the combined selection of food and wine on offer (both to sample and to purchase) is perfect. Tickets cost R110 and can be purchased on Computicket.
