Fairview Homtini 2015
Paarl, Western Cape
This is a special blend, an ideal food wine, and it tells a story I’m honoured to be a part of. – Anthony de Jager, winemaker.
A winner for any dinner party, Homtini will suit any Italian style dishes – be it rich tomato-based pastas or flavourful pork tenderloin.
Intense ruby red colour. Aromas of black cherries, pepper and dried Cape fynbos. A fresh, medium bodied palate with complex red fruit flavours and soft, silky tannins on the finish.
Residual sugar 3.1 g/l
Total acid 5.5 g/l
The range shows ingenuity and adventure. Its an experimental wine
with exciting Italian style. The wine is very food pairing conscious, great for foodies, and it also tells a lovely story. Great for any wine lover.
Named after our chief winemaker’s ancestral heritage, this wine channels the pioneering spirit of Anthony de Jager's forefathers, blending together Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz into a refined Italian style blend. This is a winning dinner party favour.

Cape Town Insiders’ Review Of The Wine
I love Italian blends so it’s no surprise that this wine was an absolute hit. With the release of the 2015 Homtini, Fairview’s winemaker has done something quite special with the Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz blend. I love that we’re seeing more of the Sangiovese varietal being included in South African blends and I think this one is going to age very well!
