Home and Hardware – Where to go for DIY in 2011
OK, so hardware stores probably don’t get you all that excited (unless you’re a guy – then it’s like a kid being let loose in a toy store.) But good hardware stores are hard to come by – especially if you live in the City Bowl and surrounds. In Pinelands there’s a great store and Mica in Constantiaberg has long been my favourite (with a great mosaicing section if you’re into that sort of thing).
But (and horray for not having to drive 20 mins to get to a hardware store) there’s a BEAUTIFUL, NEW, SHINY, LOVELY home and hardware store that has opened at the new Waterkant Centre attached to the Spar. Now, don’t let that put you off, the Spar itself is reasonably rubbish (although I like the Deli improvements), but this hardware store has something for everyone. It’s got lots of slightly different, very practical STUFF. And for the guys there’s all the tools and attachments to keep them happy. There’s also a small gardening section for the green-fingered amongst us.
So go have a look and let me know what you think, I’ve included the contact details below:
