Man, every time I do this hike I’m reminded about why I live in Cape Town. This is such a beautiful city! I’ve included my favourite picture of all the ones that I’ve taken from the top and hope that it convinces you that I’m not over-exaggerating when I say that this is a great place to live.
The walk itself is not too hardcore (and if you don’t want to do the chains section you can make the small detour). The best time to do this walk is early evening on a night with a full moon. The goal is to make it to the top before the sunset, watch the sunset and the moonrise while enjoying a glass of wine and some snacks. The walk down is easy with the full moon to guide you down!
The walk will take you about 2.5 – 3 hours at an easy walking pace and starts on Signal Hill Road (at the base of Forestry Road).Have a look at more travel.
