Wine at the President Hotel
There’s been a massive change to the way the President Hotel now presents itself and if wine tasting was everything your weekend activities were made of, then this is right up your alley. An evening spent with great wine and local celebs is exactly what I got when I was invited to the launch of the new look wine menu and food paring evening at this beautiful venue. The one thing most people go to this hotel for is a cocktail on the deck over looking the horizon and with this new concept at hand, it is going to be a summer time hit. Picture a good platter carefully selected and a glass of the good stuff watching the sun set with great company. Definitely something I’ve put on my to do list.
What’s the Plan?
The idea behind this was to create a new experience for both local and international guests where they can sample wine that is perfectly paired with the correct flavours of certain foods. It gives guests the opportunity to try the very best in the country at one venue without having to drive endlessly and still experience the same quality in tasting service. There were a few newbies that were introduced such as Diva Sparkling wine which was paired with delicious oysters, miniture steaks and loads of Lindt chocolate. Some of these canapés required the expertise of a second and third taste and have earned spot at the top of must have meals. If you don’t believe me, try the oysters for yourself. Music and entertainment was brought to us by the lovely ladies of Blackbyrd alongside Angelo Thomas singing familiar tunes that had everyone humming along.
I Love the Concept
With concepts like this, it’s easy to see why the President Hotel has remained so popular over the years. From hosting the first Idols auditions to hosting this remarkable evening, the team have clearly spent lots of time getting to know their guest and what attracts clients. Manager Marlon Aspelling was a phenomenal host creating smiles where ever he went. This is the kind of service everyone begs for and you are guaranteed to receive it from this humble group. The restaurant and bar being a beautiful sight over all, not only offers you a grand variety, but can be enjoyed indoors or out. If you’re not a wine fundi fear not because someone is always on hand to guide you. I have added this to the list of things I would like to do with my girlfriends and at a well sort after cost, I suggest you do the same. Summer drinks and dinner at the President, here we come!
