I’ve spent the Christmas holidays with this gorgeous piece on my finger. It perfectly encapsulates Cape Town for me – the way we orientate ourselves around the mountain and how it forms the backdrop to all our most important memories. As a relatively new Capetonian (I’ve only lived here 18 years ????) the mountain is symbol of the city. Wherever I’ve lived, and I’ve moved between the Southern Suburbs and the Seaboard multiple times, it’s always been a constant.
And what about the ring you ask? It’s been travelling everywhere with me as we’ve been around the mountain – and just look at it – it’s beautiful!
More About the Range
I’ve had Shimansky jewellery on my wish list for just over 10 years. I worked at the Clock Tower and would often spend my lunch breaks window shopping for the perfect tanzanite pendant. If you haven’t experienced them for yourself, pop over and have a look here). So when I was given the chance to own a piece for myself, I jumped at the opportunity!
The Table Mountain Ring Collection combines the elegance of one of the world’s most iconic jewellers with a fresh, locally-inspired energy. I’ve been wearing the silver version of the ring with a single, beautiful single diamond. It goes with everything and has worn really well, taking my sometimes chaotic lifestyle in its stride.
Shimansky describes the range like this: “Love is a wonderful feeling. You might even say, love makes you feel on top of the world. With the one-of-kind Shimansky creation, we’ve crafted a piece to perfectly capture that feeling. Inspired by nature’s most iconic design, combined with South Africa’s finest metals and diamonds, the Table Mountain Ring is the perfect reminder of moments we treasure. From your first trip to the beautiful and coveted Mother City, to the time you said ‘yes’ during a romantic proposal on top of the Natural Wonder, the ring captures your precious moments.”

Shimansky’s Proud Heritage
Shimansky was founded in 1991 by Yair Shimansky who started designing jewellery and moved from selling at a flea market to opening a full jewellery store just two years later. For me, this rapid growth can be attributed to his commitment to quality and exquisite craftsmanship that shines through in every piece.
Want to experience the Shimansky Magic for yourself? If you’re in Cape Town, you can visit one of their conveniently located branches either in the Waterfront Mall, the Clocktower at the Waterfront, Canal Walk, Cape Town Airport or the Rockwell in Green Point. If you’re in Joburg, they have a branch at Nelson Mandela Square, and if you’re in New York, they have a showroom on 5th Avenue. They can also ship nationally and internationally, so if you have something specific in mind, get in touch with Shimansky here.
