Aromas of stone fruit and acacia blossom. The palate is a complex weave of bold fruit and bright savoury flavours, well-balanced apricot and delicate spice. Our viognier always benefits from a few years of bottle maturation.

Spice Route Viognier

CapeTownInsiders’ Review

This wine is complex and bold – two of my favourite attributes in a wine. It pairs really well with a spicey tomato cream pasta but I suspect that it’s a flexible wine that pairs well with most things because it’s unique enough to hold it own, even with strong flavours, but not overpowering. It’s a perfect weekday wine if you’re in the mood for a bit of a spoil.

Spice Route Viognier

Viognier is a full-bodied white wine that is most loved for its perfumed aromas of peach, tangerine and honeysuckle. If you love to brood over bolder . . . white wines like Chardonnay, Viognier is definitely something you’ll like to swirl.

Anyone who enjoys a fruit-forward white wine, especially with their meal.

The Viognier is grown on deep Malmesbury shale soils on Klein Amoskuil farm. This un-irrigated bushvine was planted in 2001, yielding the lowest crop on the farm, at an average of just 2.7 ton per hectare.
