It feels like it’s been a busy start to the year. I’ve been working hard, parenting hard and it feels like I haven’t had a moment to pop my head up for air. So when the invitation for a night away at Tinswalo at Boulders came through, I leapt at the opportunity for a night away.
In case you missed it, we welcomed our gorgeous little girl in November last year. She joins two busy little boys so most days we have our hands full. Our night away came at just the right time – the perfect chance to regroup, catch up with each other (and get a full night’s sleep!)
A Night of Luxury
Tinswalo at Boulders is the latest jewel in the Tintswalo crown joining Tintswalo Atlantic, Tintswalo Safari Lodge and Tintswalo Manor House in the Manyaleti Private Game Reserve and Tintswalo at Lapalala. And it’s gorgeous. It’s a boutique villa overlooking Boulders Beach in Simon’s Town with six luxury suites. We stayed in the Water Witch suite which is named after a private yacht from the late 19th century which was used by English explorer, Frank Linsly James. It’s the premier suite situated on the upper level on the right-hand side of the villa with stunning views from whichever window you look out of.
As the sun set, we opened a bottle of wine and sat on the balcony to enjoy one of the last warm days of the season. A chance to catch our breath and catch up on the last couple of months.
Breakfast at Tintswalo
After the best night’s sleep that we’ve had in a long time, I woke up quite early to the smell of baking, so I snuck down to get us a pre-breakfast snack of fresh croissants and Nutella. Basically the best way to start a Sunday. Once we were finally out of bed it was time for the highlight of any Tinstwalo stay – their gorgeous ten course breakfast. It’s probably not ten, but it does seem to go on for a very long time! The best part: Camembert with salmon and capers on a croissant (yes, more croissants!)
Thank you Tintswalo, we had the perfect city escape set in one of the most beautiful places in South Africa.
