A Secret Food Tour in Toronto
September 30, 2022

Secret Food Tours happen all over the world from Marrakesh in Morocco to Lima in Peru. And its no surprise that their world-class tours have receives thousands and thousands of 5 star reviews. For me, it’s my favourite way to discover a new city, and it’s the first thing I’ll book next time I plan a trip.

We joined the food tour in Toronto, Canada. With no idea what to expect, I just had a vague idea that we’d be introduced to some local food and maybe get a bit of an introduction to Toronto. It was my first time visiting the city, so even if that’s all I got out of the tour, I’d have been happy. But it was so much more. I was blown away by Katarina our tour guide, she was friendly, fun and really knowledgeable – both about the cuisine and the local culture.

A Quick Intro to the Secret Food Tours

The tours highlight the best secret bites that locals know and love, but tourist might overlook. And while you eat, your guide shares about the city’s history, how locals buy their food and the way that food has shaped the city’s culture. It’s perfect for people of any age; a truly authentic experience that gives you the perfect introduction to a city.

In their own words:

“We are truly passionate about showcasing mouthwatering and irresistible secret foods from all corners of the globe.”

My Highlights

The highlight for me was probably seeing my first Banksy – something we’d have completely missed without the tour. I don’t want to share too much on the details of the tour – it is a secret after all – suffice to say that it was amazing and every mouthful of food was interesting and delicious. There’s nothing that I could suggest for improvements, and it completely surpassed my expectations.

Thanks Katarina and the Secret Food Tours Team, I’ll definitely be booking a tour with you in the next foreign city I visit!
