Growing up with a family full of cricket and rugby fanatics, it was impossible not to get infected with that excitement for South African sports and the passion, gees, and sense of community that comes from sitting around the field.
For this reason, and many more, I am beside myself with anticipation for the Sasfin Cape Town Cricket Sixes this weekend! With cricket and football matches to cheer, live entertainment, craft beer and even a Massage Truck, the atmosphere is going to be incredible. On stage you can look forward to performances by great South African musicians and DJs, including the Kiffness. Food ranges from Hudson’s burgers to gourmet ice cream, and the well-stocked bars will provide your favourite gins and local beers.
I have so much appreciation for this event as it supports #HitPovertyForASix. #HitPovertyForASix is an organisation that establishes cricket clinics with a focus on training, upskilling and changeing the futures of disadvantaged children across the Cape. Cricket legends Allan Donald, Brett Schultz, Meyrick Pringle have play an important role in realising this dream, and will be around the fields this weekend, so why not pop in for a chat?
The organisers have also arranged fantastic entertainment for the whole family and introduced a women’s league (by the way ladies, you will receive a complimentary ticket for any ticket you purchase).
